12 Steps to Better Chart Readings
We have heard about 12-step programs. Well, here’s a new one! Rick’s 12 Step Program to get to the center of the universe as you look at a chart. How long should it take? How do you know what is most important to say? Where do you start? What do you hope to accomplish during a reading? This is a hands-on approach to practical astrology, balancing the importance of the natal chart with the current transits and progressions. Examples will be used to demonstrate techniques.
Astrologers know that the outer planets deliver various kinds of shocks to individuals as they aspect the natal chart. As part of the workshop, we will explore strategies to handle our own transits, for if we cannot do that, how can we expect to help others.

The ancients recognized that Saturn was the gatekeeper of reality, and therefore we must answer to his finality at the end of our stay here on earth. What issues must we face now that Saturn is dancing at the Virgo/Libra cusp, opposing Uranus and squaring Pluto? How does this combine with the entrance of Uranus into the fiery domain of Aries? How do we maintain inner balance during times of outer change? How do we place relative importance on each transit, especially since there is usually more than one happening around the same time? What are the best approaches for us to take when working with a chart that is entering a period with lots of outer planet activity?

Bring your own chart to this participatory experience as class participants will be used as examples throughout the day.

Astrology and Dreams (Psychological)
In this workshop you'll experience how astrology and dreamwork can be combined into a transformative spiritual practice. Dream symbols closely reflect our natal and transiting planets. We'll consider the meaning of dreams occurring during particular transits and progressions, and how planetary and dream archetypes manifest in waking life.

Decoding the messages of dreams and transits together generates a potent broth of upsurgent feelings, pressing tasks, and energies rising within us in conscious response to change. Participants in this process-oriented workshop will be encouraged to transform themselves in response to the spiritual lessons and directives revealed through astrology and dreams.

Specialised Concepts in Medieval Astrology
This workshop will begin with instruction on how to understand and use some specialized concepts in medieval astrology, such as using detriment and descension, the "stakes" of a place or planet, and the importance of a planet aspecting its own sign. Then we will turn to a major area of life in the natal chart and do more complete and lengthy delineations of it (such as prosperity and eminence). Participants will be exposed to predictive techniques as well as both horary and natal charts."
